A CONCEPTUAL PERSONA CREATED TO EXPLORE, CONFRONT AND EXPAND MY BEING
One of the most important objective of The PhotoPerformer is to develop connection and empathy among people and transform the superficial and transactional exchange into a deeper sense of interdependency and solidarity.
In my opinion, photography is contributing to the grow of a contemporary society of the ‘SELF’ and The PhotoPerformer is convinced photography can be exercised to regenerate a society of the ‘OTHER’.
The photo-synchronicity of many individual ‘focusing’ in action is a beautiful manifestation of plurality, difference and unicity and a great exercise to experience the beauty of loosing control.
InFormAction symbolises the transformation of the actions of the PhotoPerformer into material structures.
The PhotoPerformer spent a month in residency at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. I ended up spending most of my time at the sculpture department with the intention of Becoming a Sculpture…
Here, a collaboration with Adam Electric in which we transformed The PhotoPerformer into a 3D sculpture using polyvinyl chloride.
